Get Down With Beans “End It All” Feat. Four Tet, Tortoise, TV On The Radio

End It All is the first album for Beans of Antipop Consortium fame to feature tons of guest appearances including, Four Tet, Clark, Tunde of  TV on the Radio,, and Interpol‘s Sam “Fog” Fogarino. At one point, the Brooklyn based rapper almost called it quits, but luckily this rebel found some inspiration through the crossroads of modern rips to ye olde hip-hop, rock, and experimental music.

Like a wacky rhyming philosopher, Beans is out there on some crazy planet for rappers. He’s collaborated with all kinds of musicians, weaving his tangled abstractions and sick lyrical flow over every kind of beat, breaking down the boundaries of hip-hop in the process. If there’s any album that best represents Beans at his most fiercest it’s End It All.

Songs like hypnotic tribal-esque “Mellow You Out” (produced by In Flagranti) finds Beans delivering spit-fire rhymes over Tunde Adebimpe of TV on The Radio’s soulful chanting while the preceding Nobody-produced track “Deathsweater” crosses art-rock and r&b territories over ’60s-style nasally vocals. Four Tet‘s  kitchen-sink production in “Anvil Falling” will please fans of such slow experimental abstractions meanwhile songs like “Electric Eliminator” produced by Bumps (Tortoise‘s drum section), and Interpol‘s Fogarino whose tongue twisters and vintage beat slams show he’s cooler-than-you artsy rappers.
