domino Domino Records Record Store Day Sampler 2011

Domino Records

Known for possessing sensibilities both American and indie, Domino made a name for itself back in the early ’90s by snatching up every great, stateside indie-rock band it could get its hands on; Pavement, Superchunk, and Guided By Voices all released records on the label. Nowadays, Domino takes a slightly more U.K.-centric approach (“Englindie”?). It signed the inescapable Franz Ferdinand a few years ago, for instance, as well as Clinic, Arctic Monkeys, and the Kills.

In celebration of Record Store Day, the highly influential label, and one of my all-time favorites, has released a kick-ass sampler one featuring new songs from the Arctic Monkeys, a Franz Ferdinand remix of an epic LCD Soundsystem track, plus tons of other great songs.
