The original video for the single featured DeGraw romancing MTV’s The Hills star Kristin Cavallari in a WalMart store (no such encounters took place during this Street Date performance).

Gavin DeGraw: Master Class…The last song in DeGraw’s studio set is the one that put him on the map in 2003, titled “I Don’t Want To Be.” The single, from his debut album Chariot was a Top Ten hit in the U.S. and is certified double-platinum. The song was a phenomenon and became a radio playlist staple and making DeGraw a household name. It’s also a pristine showcase for DeGraw’s singing talent, and his 2011 version holds up well against any of his new material.
