Sultry singer/songwriter Rachael Yamagata turned in an impressive PJ Harvey-tinged taste of her follow-up to 2008′s Elephants…Teeth Sinking Into Heart. Chesapeake, her first studio album in 3 years was released this week through her own Frankenfish Records.
The record is an eclectic collection of songs projecting Yamagata’s newfound optimism and hopefulness, showcasing her sultry and smoky voice, rich, layered harmonies, striking ballads and soulful grooves.
