Everlast Returns With “Songs of The Ungrateful Living” – Watch Video For “I Get By”

A GRAMMY-winning vocalist and leader of the seminal hip hop group House of Pain, New York’s Everlast has already had a storied and respected music career. Best known for his smash 90′s single “What It’s Like,” Everlast (real name Erik Schrody) is back with a brand new album Songs of the Ungrateful Living that hits a chord in today’s economically-challenged American landscape. Click through for a preview and watch the video for his first single, “I Get By.”
Not your typical “I’m back” track that often announces an artist’s return to the scene, “I Get By” is more of a comment on the state of things in this country today. Sure, it’s an update on Everlast and provides a window into his life in the 21st century. But with lyrics that cut right to the bone of the economic struggle many are facing, and a creative video that works well in light of things like the Occupy Wall Street protests, “I Get By” is a product of the times, while instantly recognizable as an Everlast track.
