The Soul Rebels Unlock Their Minds, Ask Fans To Do The Same With Release Of New Record

The Soul Rebels return with their new record Unlock Your Mind, carrying the same energy and unparalleled funky freshness that’s never complete without some traditional New Orleans second line parade rhythms to spice up the formula even more.
Originally formed from an idea that they wanted to play the new, exciting music they were hearing on the radio while respecting the tradition they loved, The Soul Rebels have enjoyed a successful career in which they’ve consistently found ways to reinvent themselves and bring fans great music with each release. Their latest effort, Unlock Your Mind, follows that trend offering a fresh set of songs that are instrumentally brilliant and lyrically enticing.
After hearing the record through, it’s no wonder why the band has been hailed as “the missing link between Public Enemy & Louie Armstrong. Particular standout moments are found on tracks like I Made It, which features not only a stellar lyrically grabbing hip-hop style verse, but also an explosive fuse of funk and blues behind it that could have been written 40 years ago. However, the difference is that the songs have a certain sense of modernity to them that make them relevant for today; a clear credit to the bands constantly growing songwriting skills.
